What is Valiant?

Valiant is embedded finance infrastructure for small and medium businesses. We sit between equipment manufacturers, resellers, and funding partners, enabling point-of-sale financing. A manufacturer's sales rep and their customers use our platform to generate quotes, submit credit applications, and get deals funded, often within minutes.

The partners we work with are some of the most recognised brands in their industries. The deals flowing through our platform are real. The tech challenges are genuinely hard. And we're just getting started.

If you Google us, you'll find our marketing site, but that's the tip of the iceberg. The real engineering work is the platform underneath: multi-region infrastructure, 50+ integrations, complex state machines, white-labelled experiences for major brands. That's what you'd be building.

What you'll actually do

You'll own and ship backend features and infrastructure across our Rails platform, from designing the APIs to hardening the systems they run on. Day to day, that looks like:

• Designing and building RESTful APIs for our frontend applications and partners
• Integrating with a range of external services such as Salesforce, Auth0, Cloudflare, and more
• Architecting solutions that meet our high-availability, security, and performance requirements
• Building and maintaining our cloud infrastructure to support rapid growth, with an emphasis on automation, repeatability, and cost efficiency
• Owning CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows to help the team ship safely and often
• Managing infrastructure-as-code so our environments are consistent, version-controlled, and easy to maintain
• Improving observability across the stack — logging, metrics, alerting, and tracing — so we catch issues before our customers do
• Strengthening the reliability and security posture of our systems, from incident response to proactive hardening
• Writing well-structured, tested, and documented code that's a pleasure to maintain
• Working closely with Product, Design, and other teams to refine deliverables and bring new features to life
